Designing Democracy

Ask yourself: “What does democracy mean to me?” This exhibition was in response to the highly-charged election year of 2016 and raised awareness about design’s powerful role in democracy. Objects interrogated the way we, the people, can safely and effectively participate in the electoral process. A timeline of voter rights, a kiosk to resigner to vote, political posters and buttons from the past, and various student and alumni projects animated questions about the state of democracy.
