Other Means

In designing the lecture series poster for Other Means, designer Cole Bryant set a goal to enhance and engage the gallery space. To achieve this, he focused on utilizing scale, space, and installation as tools for design research before addressing any visual elements of form, color, or type. The result is an immersive experience for the viewer, which would challenge the notion that posters are limited to a two-dimensional picture plane, and avert the passive glance. The mysteriously ambiguous design is  directly informed by the architecture and people around it. This approach was not only meant to challenge the designer‘s notions, but also those of his peers.
